The fad of using cloud storage or external storage is increasing today amongst the people. Even, 1TB of memory is now insufficient due to the increasing demand of storing the memories, informations and many more. What would be the efficient way to store the data? Read down for more.
The generation before us used to store the hard copy of the pics that they wanted to keep it as a memory and preserve it keeping in some folder aka storage. This days, everyone has some memories stored with the digital photos and videos that has been captured. And most of those must had the need of some storage to store it. The options that we all would choose is the hard disk drive present in the device we all are using, or the external hard disk drive or the cloud storage.
The most preferred option now-a-days is the external hard disk drive of size of 1TB or any size as per the requirement of user. The other option i.e. cloud storage is not used by many. The awareness or the faith over the cloud storage is not as high as the hard disk drive among the people. The misuse or hacking of the information is actually very hard but possible over cloud storage whereas the hacking over hard disc is nearly impossible.
Now, what option we all should prefer? For this, we must compare and even check its construction.
Let's see the hard disk drive first.
A hard disk drive, hard disk, hard drive or fixed disk is a data storage device that uses magnetic storage to store and retrieve digital information using one or more rigid rapidly rotating disks (platters) coated with magnetic material. The platters are paired with magnetic heads, usually arranged on a moving actuator arm, which read and write data to the platter surfaces. Data is accessed in a random-access manner, meaning that individual blocks of data can be stored or retrieved in any order and not only sequentially. HDDs are a type of non-volatile storage, retaining stored data even when powered off.

The next option is cloud storage.
Cloud storage is a model of data storage in which the digital data is stored in logical pools, the physical storage spans multiple servers (and often locations), and the physical environment is typically owned and managed by a hosting company. These cloud storage providers are responsible for keeping the data available and accessible, and the physical environment protected and running. People and organizations buy or lease storage capacity from the providers to store user, organization, or application data. The cloud storage uses the concept of internet of things.

In case of HDDs, we can lose its data once it gets damaged and in some critical condition, it cannot be brought back. Whereas in cloud storage, the only loss possible is phishing.
Now, question arises that what should we use? A hard disk or cloud storage?
The answer is that cloud storage would prove more efficient because we can access our information from various locations on various devices but on a single account and as for the time ahead, the risks of phishing will be minimised due to smart solutions and will have greater security.

Cloud storage can simply be explained as lots and lots of external hard disk drives placed where our data is stored in three different places so that if we want to access the information, we can easily access it even if there is a power
cutoff in any one out of those three place. In case of HDDs, we can lose its data once it gets damaged and in some critical condition, it cannot be brought back. Whereas in cloud storage, the only loss possible is phishing.
